It’s difficult to find a more peaceful place than a Japanese Friendship Garden. The garden is located in Balboa Park, the oldest city park in San Diego. The Garden is open daily from 9AM to 5PM, but is the most crowded between 10AM and 3PM. If you want to avoid the crowds, visit the Garden anytime between 9AM and 5PM. To get to the Garden, you can catch the Blue Line trolley to the Japanese Friendship Garden. From the trolley stop, it is about a 5 to 10 minute walk to the Garden. If you are staying at a hotel in the downtown area, you can easily take the free trolley from the hotel to the Japanese Friendship Garden.
